What is the monthly participation reward?
As a thank you for participating in DTE Smart Charge, you receive a monthly incentive reward. This reward is our way of recognizing your contribution to a cleaner, more efficient energy grid.
Has anything changed about my incentive?
Your monthly reward amount has not changed. Starting in May 2026, DTE Smart Charge is switching to a new payment platform called Choice Digital to deliver your rewards. This change gives you more flexibility in how you receive your incentive — including options like Venmo, digital prepaid Visa, Amazon gift card, and more.
Why did DTE switch to a new payment platform?
Choice Digital is purpose-built for energy programs and offers a better experience: faster delivery, more payment options, and greater transparency about the status of your reward. You have been notified about this change via email before it took effect.
Receiving Your Reward
How will I receive my reward?
Each month, you will receive an email from "WeaveGrid for DTE" with the subject line "You've received a reward from DTE!" This email will allow you to choose how you'd like to receive your incentive from a variety of options, including:
- Venmo or PayPal
- Digital prepaid Visa (virtual)
- Physical prepaid Visa (mailed to you)
- Amazon gift card
- Many additional merchant gift card options
You can choose a different payment method each month — whichever works best for you.
Do I have to redeem my reward every month, or can I save them up?
You can save up your rewards! DTE Smart Charge uses the "Save & Spend" option, which means your monthly incentives will accumulate in your account. You can redeem them at any time within the program's redemption window. If you do not redeem your balance electronically within the defined period, Choice Digital will automatically issue a physical fallback payment by mail.
What if I don't see the reward email in my inbox?
Please check your spam or junk folder. The email will come from "WeaveGrid for DTE” (dte-weavegrid@choicepaymenthub.com) — we recommend adding this sender to your contacts or safe senders list to ensure future emails are delivered to your inbox. If you still cannot locate it, contact WeaveGrid Driver Support at dte-support@weavegrid.com and our team will help you locate or reissue your reward.
What if I never received a reward and cannot find the email?
Reach out to WeaveGrid Customer Support at dte-support@weavegrid.com. Our team can look into your account and reissue the reward if needed.
What happens if I never redeem my reward electronically?
No worries — your rewards will not be lost. If you do not redeem electronically within the redemption window, Choice Digital will automatically send a physical payment by mail. Mailed payments are valid for 365 days, and if you reach out after that period, your funds will still be honored.
Is there a fee to receive my reward?
No. There is no cost or fee to receive your incentive. All payment options are provided at no charge to you.
Eligibility & Earning Your Reward
What do I need to do to earn my monthly reward?
Simply stay enrolled in DTE Smart Charge. As long as you are an active participant in the program, your monthly reward will be issued automatically. There is nothing extra you need to do each month beyond remaining enrolled and plugging in at home as usual.
When will I receive my first reward after enrolling?
After enrolling, please allow up to 4–6 weeks following the conclusion of your first full month of participation to receive your initial reward. This accounts for the monthly review and processing cycle. Rewards are then issued on a monthly basis going forward.
What if I unenroll from the program?
If you unenroll from DTE Smart Charge, you will stop receiving monthly rewards. You can re-enroll if you meet program eligibility requirements. Any accumulated, unredeemed rewards you have earned before unenrolling will still be available to you through Choice Digital.

Who is Choice Digital, and why am I getting an email from them?
Choice Digital is WeaveGrid's trusted payments partner and the platform that processes and delivers your monthly DTE Smart Charge rewards. They are purpose-built for energy utility programs and handle the secure delivery of your incentive on behalf of DTE. All reward emails will come from "WeaveGrid for DTE" using the Choice Digital platform.
Is Choice Digital secure? Can I trust this email?
Yes. Choice Digital is SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 compliant, meaning they meet rigorous industry standards for security and data protection. The reward email you receive is legitimate and safe to interact with. If you are ever uncertain, you can confirm with WeaveGrid support before clicking any links.
